We were down at Silverstone yesterday, testing our urban demonstrator with the Oxford and Cranfield teams with whom we have developed the power electronics, motors and control system. All the power electronics are installed and the loom all but complete, so we are now able to begin commissioning the powertrain. For the first time, all four motors were turning on the vehicle under low power with the car on chassis stands. We were even able to pick up some regen energy when the brake was applied, appearing as a spike in the ultracapacitor voltage, simply from the inertia of the wheels! An exciting day for all.
