My ability to think in 3D (a welcome by-product of dyslexia), and a busy, enquiring, analytical mind are key to my natural talent as a mechanical problem solver. I am fascinated by how things work and how they could be improved or done differently. Although initially daunted by my lack of academic qualifications, I have learned that I have a rare and unique ability. As a client once said: "I can easily find good engineers but innovative ideas like yours are much harder to come by." I have always excelled at designing better systems and ways of doing or making things and have worked on a variety of inventions from push-fit structural connectors to renewable energy systems, as well as easy-opening jar lids and a vehicle restoration 'roll-over rack'. I have brought innovation to all my roles, as a qualified motor mechanic, classic car restorer, modelmaker, fabricator, and now have the confidence and determination to pursue invention as a career.
